About the Role

Taoti is looking for a full time Sr. Graphic Designerwho specializes in marketing design, digital design (ie, websites), and has at least some lightweight animation/motion graphics chops. Big bonus points for someone who leans heavily into AI tools to do the job! About the Job... The title kinda says it all. We're looking for a top notch designer that knows how to crank out beautiful work effectively and efficiently. Someone who understands how to translate business objectives into design. Someone who knows how to focus their time on the things that count (like calls-to-action) versus the things that are just there to look pretty. Someone who believes that content and design are inseparably intertwined. And someone who considers their use of AI tools a competitive advantage. Sample tasks might include (but are certainly not limited to)... • Create spec work for an integrated marketing campaign tasked with driving more visitors to a major museum (Note: we're looking for original creative concepting here. Not just bringing someone else's vision to life.) • Design the home page for national association in Figma (while we do have dedicated UX people, given how closely UX, UI, and design are related, we appreciate designers with strong UX instincts.) Big bonus points if you've designed in Webflow, Framer, or similar low-code web platforms. • Create pre-press files for print work (you should understand the print world and know how to prep files that professional printers will need) • Create animated social media assets in Canva or CapCut to promote a major arena • Use AI to generate mockups of a trade show booth that we'll create • Digest content from a case study and them come up with supporting graphics (and motion graphics) to accentuate the key points Job Logistics This is a full time, W2 position in our offices on Capitol Hill (Washington, DC.) Teleworking is permitted on an ad hoc basis with good reason, but otherwise, this is a fully in-office position. Please note that we will likely not respond to applicants seeking freelance or partner agency opportunities. Tips for Getting This Job Taoti is a full-service creative agency. Which means, we do a bit of everything. Clients range from national associations and non-profits to government and commercial clients. We build websites, run social media campaigns, come up with integrated marketing campaigns, do branding (or usually re-branding), produce TV commercials and podcasts, etc. (Just check out our portfolio if you want a sense of the types of work we do: https://taoti.com/portfolio/.) Which is all to say that we're looking for someone with a broad range of skill sets and experience. While we don't expect one person to be able to do everything, it's fair to say that the more versatile you are, the more valuable you can be to the agency. We are looking for someone who is adept at modern, light-weight design tools (like Canva and CapCut over Photoshop and Premier.) Not that we don't want you to use the tried and trusted Adobe Suite where needed, but we're big believers in the right tool for the job, and if some of these consumer-grade design tools can make you faster and more efficient, we prefer you go that route. Along those lines, Taoti leans heavily into AI, and we're looking for someone who wants to be an AI pioneer with us. Someone naturally inclined to try new tools and tech and champion their inclusion into our process. We're past the point of dabbling and are looking for people who can help us institutionalize AI into our daily processes. Tip: talk to us about your AI thoughts and experience in your cover letter! What Else Are You Looking For? Obviously, we want to hear about your experience, and of course, your portfolio is probably the most important part of your application. This is a senior role, and your body of work should speak for itself. But beyond just having the skills, we're looking for a high-energy individual that will bring a spark to the team. Someone who can inspire and support both up and down the chain of command within the team. Someone who is proactive and comes to the table with ideas and suggestions for better ways to do things. Someone who is not afraid to speak his/her mind and have the confidence of conviction when it counts. Someone who is fun to work with, passionate, hard-working, efficient, and who will contribute to-as opposed to merely consume--our agency culture. Note: we're often asked how one thrives at Taoti. Here's a blog about what we're looking for from our team members, beyond the skill sets: https://taoti.com/blog/careers/the-seven-habits-of-highly-effective-taotians-2025-edition. Speaking of the Culture... "Fun but focused," as one Taotian put it, is a great way to sum up our culture. We're a fun and casual shop. The kind of place where you can wear whatever, come and go as you please, bring your dog to work, and have autonomy over your own day for the most part. We have the obligatory creative agency office toys and games. We even have a company boat just a short walk from the office that we like to take afternoon cruises on from time to time. But we work hard. take the work seriously and believe deeply in the mission to makemeaningful and measurableimpacts for our clients. All the perks and shenanigans and irreverent tone are fun, but to really fit in here, you need to beabout the work, and frankly, you need to be good at your job. B- employees that might be able to keep their head down and make it in a lager operation don't tend to last long here. We tend to be a group of overachievers who look to not just grind out the work but really push the agency forward in the process. Speaking of work, we are not one of those shops that expect their people to be on the clock 50-60 hours a week. Give us a solid and productive 40 hours, and that's all we ask for. But those 40 hours have to count. We also believe in total transparency and open communication across teams and across ranks. Instead of chain-of-command, we want everyone to have and share their own voice. There are weekly check-ins with your manager (and sometimes, even other managers in other parts of the company.) Every month or so, the CEO holds 'CafeClutch'just so he can hear ideas and feedback directly from the team instead of through the filter of management. Questioning the status quo and suggesting better ways to do things is not only okay-it's expected. Want to see what life at Taoti looks like? Check out ourInstagramor 'about us'video. What about benefits? • Significant bonus opportunities, including referral bonuses for any hires or new clients you refer; and a profit-sharing bonus for our top performers each year. • All federal holidays, plus 3 weeks PTO for starters, and that goes up each year you're here. • 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance. (50% for qualifying dependents.) • Paid family leave for men and women (including PTO plus short and long term disability options.) • 3% retirement plan matching (plus access to a financial advisor). • Mobile phone reimbursement • Charitable contribution matching • Tax-free metro benefits • A sincere respect for work/life balance • Money and time off allocated for professional development (also increases with tenure) • A diverse team hailing from over 12 countries last time we checked • A very hip/cool/funky/quirky office space on Barracks Row, in the heart of Capitol Hill. Just 2 blocks from the metro! • Of course, the above is a quick list. See the handbook for all the gory details. A bit more about Taoti... We leverage technology, creativity, and innovation to generate meaningful and measurable results for our clients-that's what drives us. Speaking of clients, they're about 60% non-profits, 20% commercial, and 20% federal government.
