About the Role

Position Overview ICF is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial consulting company seeking a Solutions Architect to support our Department of Defense (DoD) Child and Youth Programs (CYP) project. In this role, you will work with government representatives to modernize legacy websites and applications, drive cloud migration, and foster DevSecOps practices. This is a fully remote position tied to the Washington, DC Metro area with occasional in-person meetings required. Key Responsibilities • Translate business needs into application solution architecture requirements, using diagrams to communicate with broad audiences. • Inform the balance of security, tech debt, features, and defect work. • Estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives. • Evolve the team’s capabilities toward high-performing DevSecOps practices within the Agile framework. • Collaborate with teams to support and drive the platform’s future development while prioritizing existing program needs. • Evaluate legacy and current applications, architecture, and database design to recommend improvements in design, performance, and quality. • Ensure solutions are developed and packaged in a repeatable way for both customers and internal teams. • Own the technical roadmap and work with Project Managers to ensure project achievability. • Provide operations and monitoring support for legacy systems. • Collaborate with IT Security to ensure compliance with regulatory policies. • Perform proofs-of-concept as needed to determine technology direction. • Lead and mentor a team of software developers and engineers. • Take a hands-on role in solving complex, cross-organizational technical challenges by removing roadblocks and delivering practical solutions. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. • 10+ years of experience in leading and architecting enterprise software systems. • 10+ years of experience with building web-based enterprise systems. • 10+ years of experience with relevant programming languages and platforms such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, Angular, and React. • 7+ years of experience with application architecture or product development. • Experience with modern software design leading to highly testable systems. • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Lawful Resident (Green Card Holder) and MUST RESIDE IN THE United States per federal contract requirements. • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with software development in Agile and Scaled Agile teams. • Experience applying practices such as microservices architecture, serverless architecture, and automated testing. • Knowledge of web services, related standards, distributed architecture design patterns, and best practices. • 3+ years of experience in building and deploying applications to the Cloud. • Experience hosting with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). • Experience directly leading a Federal ATO process for a $10M+ project. Compensation: $118,730.00 - $201,840.00
