Our client is seeking a Software Engineer with experience in machine learning operations (MLOps), Kubernetes, and high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems for the U.S. Government in one of the most dynamic and impactful areas of national security. What You’ll Be Doing As part of an elite engineering team, you’ll design, build, and maintain robust, scalable pipelines to enable machine learning model training and inference in a secure Kubernetes-based environment. You’ll help deliver efficient and compliant solutions for model deployment and performance tuning. Your work may involve: • Developing data-aware model training pipelines • Building secure, scalable Kubernetes-based inference pipelines • Integrating custom metrics to support real-time performance tuning • Working with large-scale, high-throughput systems in an HPC context Tech You'll Work With You’ll work with cutting-edge systems that may include: • Real-time and high-volume data pipelines • HPC clusters for parallelized computing • Data repositories, transport services, and analytics stacks • DevSecOps pipelines and ML model orchestration platforms Required Skills • Proficient in Linux CLI • Strong Python development experience • Experience with ETL/data processing workflows using Spark or Dask • Developing and deploying containerized applications • Writing and deploying Kubernetes resources • Creating and maintaining Helm charts Preferred/Bonus Skills • Go programming experience • Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab and Flux CD • Experience working with or debugging GPU-enabled applications • Familiarity with policy management tools (e.g., Kyverno) • Experience using image builder tools like Ko (for Go) • Exposure to ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc. • Familiarity with ML orchestration tools (e.g., Kubeflow, NeMo, PyTorch Lightning) • Monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) Minimum Qualifications • 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline • Active Top Secret clearance with favorable polygraph Compensation Competitive annual salary + performance bonus Includes full benefits package If you're ready to advance your career while making a real-world impact in national defense, we’d love to hear from you.
