Our client seeks a visionary and experienced Lead UI/UX Designer to shape the future of their digital products. This role is based in **Washington, D.C., US**, and operates on a hybrid model, blending in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be responsible for leading the design vision, user research, and interface development across web and mobile platforms. This position requires a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, the ability to translate complex user needs into intuitive and engaging interfaces, and a strong portfolio showcasing your design prowess. You will guide a team of talented designers, fostering a creative and collaborative environment, and ensuring design consistency and quality across all product lines. Responsibilities include conducting user research, creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups, and conducting usability testing to validate design decisions. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define user journeys, information architecture, and interaction design. A key part of this role involves staying ahead of industry trends and emerging design technologies, advocating for best practices, and mentoring junior designers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading design projects from concept to launch, with a strong emphasis on measurable outcomes and user satisfaction. Expertise in industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required. A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role, is preferred. You should possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and defend design decisions effectively.
