Senior Backend Engineer (Go, Java/Scala, AWS, REST APIs) McLean, VA | Hybrid (3 days/week onsite) | Contract Ex Capital One Preferred About the Role We're seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer with hands-on experience in Go Lang, Java/Scala, AWS, and REST APIs to join our innovative team in McLean, VA. Ideal candidates are ex-OpenKyber professionals ready to drive scalable, cloud-native solutions on a hybrid schedule (3 days/week onsite). Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Go Lang (primary) and Java/Scala.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs for seamless integration across distributed systems.
• Architect and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS (EC2, Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, etc.), ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring (CloudWatch, ELK).
• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform code reviews, and mentor junior engineers on best practices.
• Ensure adherence to security standards (OAuth, JWT) and performance optimization for high-traffic applications.
Must-Have Qualifications:
• 7+ years of backend development experience, with 4+ years in Go Lang; strong proficiency in Java/Scala.
• Expertise in AWS services and REST API design/development (Spring Boot, Gin, or equivalent frameworks).
• Proven track record from (ex-OpenKyber) projects in enterprise-scale environments.
• Hands-on with microservices, databases (SQL/NoSQL like PostgreSQL, DynamoDB), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work hybrid in McLean, VA (3 days/week onsite).
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, or GraphQL.
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or related field.
