Job Title: Full Stack Web Developer (Geospatial/3D Visualization Focus)
Location: Hybrid / On Site (EHT, NJ or Washington, DC)
Employment Type: Full-time (W-2) or 1099 Contractor (flexible based on candidate preference and project needs) Experience Level: Mid-level to Senior (3-8+ years preferred)
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Full Stack Web Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable web applications from user interface to database and deployment. You will be responsible for features end-to-end, with a focus on interactive, data-driven experiences -particularly those involving 3D geospatial visualization, mapping, or terrain rendering. Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, responsive applications that drive business value.
In 2026, strong full-stack developers combine solid fundamentals with modern tooling (TypeScript, component-based UIs, cloud deployment) and awareness of specialized libraries like CesiumJS for 3D earth/globe visualizations.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks
• Build and maintain back-end services, APIs, authentication, and business logic
• Create, optimize, and query databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Integrate front-end with back-end services and third-party APIs (including geospatial data sources)
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code following best practices
• Perform debugging, performance optimization, and cross-browser/device testing
• Participate in code reviews, architectural decisions, and agile processes (sprints, stand-ups)
• Deploy and monitor applications (CI/CD, cloud platforms, basic DevOps tasks)
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers
• Stay current with emerging technologies (especially in 3D/web geospatial tools) and suggest improvements
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 3-8+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (TypeScript is essentially mandatory in most professional stacks)
• Front-end expertise:
• HTML5, CSS3 (Tailwind CSS, CSS-in-JS, or modern styling solutions)
• React.js (most common), Next.js, Vue.js, or Angular
• Back-end expertise (one or more):
• Node.js + Express / NestJS
• Python (Django / FastAPI / Flask)
• Java / Spring Boot
• Go, Ruby on Rails, or .NET (less common but still relevant)
• API design & consumption: REST, GraphQL, WebSockets
• Databases: PostgreSQL/MySQL (SQL), MongoDB or similar (NoSQL)
• Version control: Git (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket workflows)
• Testing: Unit/integration/end-to-end (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, etc.)
• Deployment & tools: Docker basics, AWS/GCP/Azure (at least one), Vercel/Netlify, CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), SEO basics, and web performance
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly
Preferred Experience
• Experience with CesiumJS (including its APIs, 3D globe/terrain rendering, CZML/GeoJSON data handling, entity management, and integration with React/Resium-highly desirable for geospatial or visualization-heavy projects)
• Experience with Next.js (App Router) or similar full-stack React frameworks
• TypeScript in both front- and back-end codebases
• Authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth, NextAuth/Auth.js, Clerk, Supabase Auth)
• State management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query / TanStack Query)
• Cloud services (serverless, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
• Basic DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes awareness, Terraform basics)
• Familiarity with AI tooling (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) for productivity
• Experience building real-world apps: e-commerce, dashboards, SaaS products, auth + payments, or geospatial/mapping/3D visualization tools
• Mobile-responsive or progressive web app (PWA) experience
• Geospatial data knowledge (e.g., GeoJSON, 3DTiles, imagery integration)
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS/Geospatial, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
What We Offer (Typical Range)
• Competitive compensation:
• W-2 full-time: $75,000-$135,000+ base (depending on location/experience/level) + benefits
• 1099 Contractor: $55-$85+/hour (depending on scope, expertise, and project duration; potential for long-term extensions)
• Health benefits, 401(k) matching, PTO (for W-2); flexible terms for 1099
• Remote-friendly options, professional development budget
• Opportunity to work on meaningful products with modern tech stack, including cutting-edge 3D geospatial applications
