Apply today Niyam IT is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our team in support of a high impact federal program. This role is ideal for an experienced developer with deep expertise in modern full-stack development and a passion for building scalable, secure, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will be proficient across a range of technologies and tools, including AWS services, Java/Groovy backend with Angular/React frontend, and DevOps practices. Prior experience supporting federal agencies or working in a FedRAMP-compliant environment is a plus. Position currently allows remote work. This is a six-month position. Roles and Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and deploy web-based applications using Java/Groovy. • Build modern, responsive user interfaces with Angular. • Develop and maintain backend APIs and microservices hosted in AWS using Lambda, API Gateway, and S3. • Monitor application health and performance using AWS CloudWatch and other related tools. • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments. • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform to automate environment setup and management. • Support DevOps processes and pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins. • Ensure compliance with federal security and accessibility standards, including FedRAMP and Section 508. • Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, code reviews, and backlog grooming. Qualifications and Education Requirements: • US Citizenship with ability to obtain a public trust. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field. • 5+ years of full-stack development experience using Java/Groovy; experience with Python or is a plus. • Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React. • Proficiency in AWS cloud services: Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, PostgreSQL. • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code such as CloudFormation and/or Terraform. • Solid understanding of CI/CD and DevOps tools such as GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins. • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Skills: • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification. • Prior experience working on a federal project. • Familiarity with compliance standards like FedRAMP, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
