Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Data Scientist/Principal Data Scientist Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position requires on-site support located in Clearfield, UT where technology and teamwork come together.
The selected candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Data Science Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
Data Scientist job duties involve the following:
• Creates data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets.
• Analysis may have many applications such as to address a business issue or provide a competitive advantage for the organization.
• Requires strong statistical and data visualization skills.
• Summarize and socialize data, make conclusions and provide direction on problems identified.
• Strong communication & visualization of the data to articulate the findings. - Develop and implement data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Design, model, and document the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for metrics and analytics.
What you need to be successful in the role:
• Strong problem-solving skills and root-cause analysis to ensure that curated data is accurate, repeatable, and explainable
• Ability to communicate data and engineering analysis regarding conclusions that were reached.
• Ability to create and present data reports to support investigations.
• Development /programming of tools to improve pipeline efficiency, eliminate repetitive tasks, and implement new analysis tools/techniques.
• Prioritization skills to manage workload and make sound decisions for assigned team's data analysis activities.
We offer Monday through Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm shifts with every Friday off, flexible work arrangements, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment. Basic Qualifications
Data Scientist Level 2:
• Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 1 years related experience in engineering OR a Master's degree with 0 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience in gathering data, analyzing, and reporting to stakeholders.
• Ability to work for extended periods of time at a workstation on a computer or similar device for up to 10 hours / duration of shift. Occasional extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling
• Your ability to obtain and/or maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company.
Principal Data Scientist Level 3:
• Bachelor's degree in STEM field with 4 years related experience in engineering OR a Master's degree with 3 years of related engineering experience OR PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience.
• Experience in gathering data, analyzing, and reporting to stakeholders.
• Ability to work for extended periods of time at a workstation on a computer or similar device for up to 10 hours / duration of shift. Occasional extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling
• Your ability to obtain and/or maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Able to code with Python without AI assistance
• Understanding and ability to work and manage SQL Databases
• Knowledge of AI and ML best practices and infrastructure
